Complete and prove the first print
Use a harmless one-page document and verify every state from Odoo to paper.
1. Select defaults
Enable printing for the company and your user. Select the newly discovered printer as both the user default and, if appropriate, the company default. Confirm the printer is online immediately before testing.
2. Send one safe page
Use the built-in Direct Print test report or a one-page non-confidential PDF. Check the printer name in the confirmation dialog. Do not test with invoices, shipping labels or customer records.
3. Follow the job

□ Exactly one page was produced.
□ It came from the selected printer.
□ The Odoo job reached completed.
□ Runtime and SocketD logs contain no repeated reconnect or authentication error.
□ A second user cannot see this printer unless it was explicitly shared.
□ Service restart does not lose the computer/printer mapping.
