Migrate an existing PrintNode installation

Preserve Odoo references and keep a tested return path until XiotBox is accepted.

Migration sequence

Back up database and filestore; export or record the current Direct Print endpoint, account and defaults.
Keep the former subscription active.
Install XiotBox and choose Use or migrate an existing Direct Print account.
Deploy Runtime and connect one desktop computer.
Use Map Existing Devices to match computers and printers by name.
Inspect every default printer and automated print scenario. Do not accept a mapping based only on a similar name.
Test one printer, then a representative automated workflow.
Observe production during the agreed acceptance period before cancelling the former subscription.

Rollback trigger

Rollback if authentication, device mapping or normal printing cannot be stabilized inside the maintenance window. In Settings select Restore Official Subscription, restore the desktop configuration, restart the client and test the former endpoint. Restore the database backup only if records were structurally changed and the endpoint rollback is insufficient.

Do not delete the existing printnode_base account or recreate printers. The migration path is designed to update mappings in place so documents and automation continue referencing the same Odoo records.
