Upgrade and rollback safely

Treat the Odoo module, Runtime, SocketD and desktop patch as one compatible release set.

Before every upgrade

□ Read release notes and compatibility requirements.

□ Download every required artifact and verify checksums.

□ Back up database, filestore, Runtime data and environment configuration.

□ Record current module, Runtime, SocketD, patch and desktop client versions.

□ Pause automated printing and choose one test printer.

Recommended order

Upgrade in a staging database and test installation/migration.
Upgrade the Odoo module using Odoo's normal module upgrade process.
Restart Odoo and confirm Settings opens without errors.
Upgrade Runtime + SocketD, preserving the data directory and tokens.
Upgrade the desktop patch only when required by the release notes.
Run health checks, reconnect one desktop and send one test page.
Resume automated printing only after the job reaches completed.

Rollback

Stop new printing, restore the previous Runtime artifact and its compatible configuration, then restore the matching Odoo database and filestore backup if the module changed database structure. Restore the prior desktop configuration or patch. Never mix a restored database with an incompatible newer Runtime.

Keep at least one known-good release set and its checksums offline. A module ZIP alone is not a complete rollback package.
